Vegas’ rolling kitchens are taking over the Huntridge Center parking lot at 1116 E. Charleston Blvd. for Food Truck Fridays. The weekly lunchtime gathering kicks off March 25 and will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The shopping center is currently being renovated by developer J Dapper.
“The idea behind the event is to bring awareness to the [Huntridge Center] and show that this area is strong for businesses and that food businesses can do well in this area,” Dapper says. “It also gives more choices for lunch for people who live and work Downtown.”
As of late, Dapper awarded the new sign contract to YESCO while the layout of the Huntridge Tavern and Huntridge Pharmacy and Soda Fountain is currently being reconfigured. Wing Stop is the only new tenant that has signed a lease.
Some of the trucks that will be serving lunch on Friday are Blue Mahoe Jamaican cuisine, Bulldogis Unleashed hot dogs, Dazzling Bistro comfort foods and MTO Café.
“We hope [Food Truck Fridays] becomes a long-term event,” Dapper says.
If it is successful, the event will continue once a month on nice days, but for now will continue every Friday until April 15.
