October marks First Friday’s 14th anniversary! Catch live performances by Neon Trees’ Tyler Glenn, and former Pussycat Doll, Kayla Jones. This month’s “One World Through Art” theme celebrates the culture of inclusiveness that First Fridays have been fostering for years. 5 p.m.
Saturday: The Las Vegas Philharmonic’s Symphonic Spectacular showcases a collection of opera blockbusters like Bizet’s Suite No. 1 from the opera Carmen and Rossini’s Overture to William Tell. Catch this electrifying performance at The Smith Center at 7 p.m. Sunday matinee 2 p.m. Tickets $30-$109.
From 11 a.m.- 3 p.m., 9th Bridge School hosts the inaugural Kidz Street Festival and Fundraiser with three interactive learning areas: kids can explore and tinker at Zappos’ MakerSpace, find hands-on games presented by Downtown Grand at Interactive Alley, and gardening and nutrition education at Food Hub. Entry is $3 for adults and free for children. $1 per ride or game ticket. Event proceeds benefit 9th Bridge School, a 501c3 nonprofit organization.
