Friday: Catch Las Vegas’ very own Franks & Deans bring their punk rock sound to Rat Pack classics. They will be playing with local blues band The Swamp Gospel and Los Angeles-based band Easter combining punk with the best of the ‘80s at Beauty Bar. Show starts at 8 p.m.
A rocking line up; Smash Magazine presents Authority Zero with HEY-SMITH, Hard Pipe Hitters and Anti-Vision tonight at Backstage Bar & Billiards. 8 p.m. Tickets $12-15.
Saturday: It’s opening weekend for A Public Fit’s production of The Beauty Queen of Leenane, a dark comedy about a 40-year-old spinster and her devious 70-year-old mother that explores love and power struggles. The play runs through March 5 at The Usual Place on 100 S. Maryland Pkwy. Tickets $20-25. Show starts at 8 p.m.
Sunday: The party lasts one more night this weekend as school and work are closed for Presidents Day. Stop by Oddfellows for Nostalgia, a dance party featuring Latin and indie hits from the ‘80s to ‘00s starting at 10 p.m.
stop by Red’s party celebrating the Queen of Tejano. There will be a Selena photo booth and free Selena buttons for the first 200 guests, and of course, Selena music mixed in with other ‘90s hits. Outfits are encouraged. $5 cover charge before 10 p.m., $10 after 10 p.m
Monday: On President’s Day, Freedom Beat is introducing their newest food and music event; The Gibson Biscuits and Jam Sessions will take place every Monday night from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Musicians are free to come and jam with other artists with instruments provided by Gibson or you can bring your own. Food specials include a bunch of $10 biscuit snacks such Chicken and Biscuits, Biscuits and Gravy, Smothered Pot Roast Biscuit and Biscuits and Jam with maple butter and house jelly. Plus, $1 draft beers!
