From the outside, PublicUs restaurant and coffee bar isn’t overwhelming, but when you enter the doors you’re greeted with an open, spacious room filled with natural light, real wood tables, art and great music. The tables, barn doors and light fixtures are all designed and fabricated by Travis Landice, who co-founded the coffee shop. The main room is packed with quirky things, like a tree growing from the middle of your table! To me, the space feels more like an art gallery than a restaurant, because every detail is so well thought out and creative. Every time I’m in there, grabbing oatmeal or an almond milk latte, I notice something new—my favorite so far being the giant 3-D world map on the back wall. The next time you’re in PublicUs, which is also dog-friendly, try taking your eyes off the attractive food and drinks and pay more attention to the design and décor. You’ll be glad you did.
