Tip: Downtown Rocks

If you could have told my college self that I would get to meet Fuel and watch them perform while standing next to Dishwalla, I would have called you a liar. But that really happened at Downtown Rocks, the Fremont Street Experience’s free summer concert series. (Did I mention it’s free?!)

Fremont livens up as the sun goes down. Crowds pack onto the mall under the canopy to watch big bands. You never know who you will bump into in the crowd. Get there early to get a prime viewing spot. If you want to partake in adult beverages hop into The D or check out the Four Queens’ patio for a less crowded view of the 3rd Street Stage. For those of you who can swing it, spend the money and get the VIP passes, which will afford you more room and closer access to the stage.

You will want to catch the shows before the summer season ends. The lineup of bands includes Good Charlotte (July 22), Rick Springfield (August 12), Seether (August 26) and Collective Soul (Sept. 1).
