During the July 19 City Council meeting, council members voted unanimously in favor of a 15-year agreement to bring a United Soccer League expansion team to Las Vegas in 2018.
Founder of Las Vegas Pro Soccer Brett Lashbrook hopes to bring an authentic soccer experience to local fans that will differentiate itself from other local teams. During the 2018 season, the team will compete in 16 regular season games at Cashman Field, as well as host other soccer-related exhibition events.
While it’s not the Major League Soccer team Mayor Carolyn Goodman has pushed for in recent years, it’s a step closer, as several teams from the Division II league have joined MLS. So keep those fingers crossed, Carolyn!
Anybody looking to get early seat reservations for USL games can place a $20 deposit (per seat) for season tickets here. Also, locals get to submit name ideas. Lets not make this a Boaty McBoatface situation.
