What’s a party without the after party? A bummer, that’s what. Luckily, Life Is Beautiful Music & Arts Festival isn’t into crushing anyone’s festival high, so it’s chosen the Plaza Hotel & Casino for its official after party destination.
After the headliners close out the festival each night, you can mosey on over to the Plaza for an impromptu dance party under its dome with various DJs on the decks. Once you’re done, pay a visit to open-late restaurants Brightside – Breakfast and Burgers and Pop Up Pizza to replenish your energy.
The Plaza’s casino lounge and events center will also offer free(!) late-night jams on September 23, with performances by 70s disco outfit Wonder Boogie from midnight to 4 a.m. (peak hours for funking it up) and DJ Tokimonsta, whose collab with singer-songwriter Yuna on “Don’t Call Me” is a tribal work of hip-hop art.
We’ll be out of the dog days of summer by September, but there’s no question it’ll still look like Mad Max: Fury Road out there. Our suggestion? Hit up the Plaza’s rooftop pool parties on September 23-24 for drink specials and a good, cool, time.
So far, the Plaza’s been quite good to us, but it’s far from finished. The hotel is offering room packages to complement the festival. The “Beautiful” package includes two three-day general admission festival passes; the “Rockstar,” gives admission for two to electropop duo MGMT’s private performance at the Plaza’s showroom on Saturday; and the “All Access” package fulfills your wildest dreams with not only two three-day GA passes, but two tickets to MGMT’s private set.
Not planning a hotel stay? You still have a chance to win MGMT access by following Life Is Beautiful and the Plaza’s social media channels. In the meantime, get excited, because we’re positive there’s more to come.
