Plaza Hotel Partners With Real Results Fitness for New Downtown Gym

The Arts District staple will offer classes for hotel guests and Fremont Street 9-to-5ers

How’s this for a flex?

Real Results Fitness, one of Downtown Las Vegas’ longest-running gyms, has opened a new satellite location inside the Plaza Hotel & Casino on May 1.

“It’s definitely a unique thing for Downtown,” says Real Results CEO Bryan Nelson.

The new gym is housed on the first floor, just past the lobby, in a renovated 5,000-square-foot space that once was used as an Amtrak station (a historic mural illustrating the evolution of railways remains at the entrance of the gym).

The space primarily serves as a hotel amenity. Plaza guests can utilize the gym equipment for free, with boot camp and yoga classes starting at $15. The hotel promises affordable rates for local residents as well, with drop-in classes and daily gym use starting at $25. Classes are held inside the new fitness center as well as the Plaza’s pool and recreation deck, so long as weather permits.

The gym features various equipment, including free weights, treadmills, recumbent bikes, elliptical machines, cable machines and more—a massive upgrade to the Plaza’s previous gym, which was located on the third floor. The space also features a massage room (by appointment only), a small retail shop, digital lockers and a small outdoor area.

Like the original Real Results, which is wrapped almost entirely in graffiti-inspired art and murals, the satellite location features the vibrant work of SAVME.

Real Results, which operates corporate wellness programs at Zappos and other businesses in the community, also offer personal trainings and customized activities for large groups and conventions. The hotel also plans to host some of Real Results’ special events, such as their “Detox to Retox” beer and yoga classes.

Real Results’ partnership with the hotel came about organically, Nelson says.

Plaza CEO Jonathan Jossel and Roy Zabludowicz, director of Las Vegas properties for Tamares Group, which owns the hotel, have been longtime members of Real Results, sweating it out in the flagship location’s gritty, warehouse-style space at 1201 S. Commerce St. The two approached Real Results with the concept as yet another unique amenity for the hotel, which has recently seen renovations to its pool and recreation areas, in addition to giant displays of public art by world-renowned street artists Shepard Fairey, D*Face and Faile.

“We continue to enhance our guests’ experience and want to offer them as well as our neighbors who live and work downtown a unique and convenient fitness option,” Jossel said in a statement.

Real Results’ presence will be felt not only in the gym but throughout the property. The gym has crafted special menus featuring healthy options at several of the hotel’s restaurants, including a “power” bowl and turkey wrap at Brightside Breakfast & Burgers and a grilled chicken breast and six-ounce filet mignon at Oscar’s Steakhouse.

The gym is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. For rates and more information, visit
